The job of an aluminium CNC operator is to run computer numerically controlled machine tools to produce parts. In CNC machining, operations are controlled by an electronic system (with programmable logic) so that the machine works autonomously on the basis of preset instructions.
Computer Numerical Control is used in practically every area of the engineering industry, from stainless steel CNC machining to steel and cast iron. The automated process uses computer-aided design (CAD) software and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to define the operations the machine will carry out. And, of course, the programmer for aluminium CNC machining must know the programming languages needed to run professional machinery.
So the aluminium CNC operator is the person who enters the instructions into the machine according to a technical sheet, loads the material and sets up the tools. They start the machining cycle, supervise the process and step in if changes or improvements are needed. When the machine has finished, the CNC operator removes and finishes the part, making sure its dimensions are within the limits set in the design. Finally, they carry out a quality check and report any defects or malfunctions to the production manager.
